STOP THE GUN GRAB IN NEW MEXICO!

Anti-gun lawmakers are at it again this year, blatantly attacking law-abiding gun owners by pushing measures that do nothing to stop the real issue of gun violence.  We have already seen a laundry list of extremist gun control proposals that would make Biden and Bloomberg proud. We know that we will see more!

We ask that you sign the petition below and help stop the gun grab in New Mexico. To further this cause, it is imperative that you contact your State Representatives and your State Senators, and urge them to OPPOSE HB 9, HB 50, HB 72, HB 100, HB 101, HB 224,HB 238, SB 44, SB 116 and SB 171, and any other new gun control laws. Your NRA-ILA will be fighting these measures at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe along with many other pro-Second Amendment supporters, but we also need YOU to fully engage in the critical effort to protect your Second Amendment rights in the Land of Enchantment.

I, a VOTER and resident of New Mexico, respectfully urge you to OPPOSE all anti-gun proposals being pushed by the lawmakers in our state.

I thank you for your consideration and will be keeping track of what your response and vote for these, and all anti-gun measures, will be.

Will you sign?

We must work together to stop this. Once our rights are taken away, we will not get them back.

Check the results of the recent 2nd Amendment lawsuits before wasting your time and my tax dollars on legislation that is sure to be overturned.

Murdering with firearms is already illegal. Enforce the laws we have. If more laws did anything, Chigago would be the safest city. This is absurd and patently infringes on the second amendment. This would only be overturned at the supreme court level. Look at recent California laws being passed and remanded back to the lower courts.

Knee jerk legislation. Not thought out and poorly written.

I do not oppose sensible laws regulating the sales transfer and ownership of firearms, especially those aimed at holding people responsible for thier own and thier dependants actions. However, just throwing legislation at all responsible gun owners in an attempt to keep the few from thier own mistakes is not in align with the Country I grew up in and love. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

Please follow U S Supreme court cases. Many proposed bills being considered are UNCONSTITUTIONAL!! Trying to get around the Constitution is very wrong-headed. If you don’t like the Constitution try to change it. The way to do that is outlined within it. LEAVE OUR RIGHTS ALONE!!!!!!

Let’s all work to fix the court system that puts criminals back on the streets within hours. They’ll soon be the ony armed civilians, and with police response times at 30-45 minutes in the metro area, that concerns me greatly. That is NOT to say that we don’t need to tighten controls/background checks on who is allowed to buy/own a firearm. During the pandemic, gun sales soared and I’m also concerned that a lot of people who can’t hit the broad side of a barn are walking around with weapons. Perhaps a mandatory competency test to be administered within a month of the sale or transfer?
