Pledge to Support Suppressor Legalization in Illinois!

The fight is on to legalize suppressors in the state of Illinois, finally bringing the state in line with federal law. This would allow law-abiding citizens, who go through the proper federal licensing procedure, to possess and use suppressors legally under state law. Suppressors help reduce the muzzle report of a firearm to hearing-safe levels while also lessening recoil and muzzle rise. Suppressors also decrease of noise complaints frequently used as an excuse to close hunting lands.

In order for suppressor legalization to become a reality, all pro-Second Amendment activists must work together. Please sign this pledge TODAY, as well as urge family, friends, and fellow Illinois activists to do the same.

Please legalize the ability to obtain suppressors here in Illinois. Many other states have moved forward and now allow suppressors as there are many benefits, not only to the shooter. I can no longer hunt with my father because he has hearing loss and refuses to participate for fear of losing any more hearing by not being able to use ear protectin in time before a shit rings out. I don’t blame him either, but it would just be great if we could get back into the field like we used to back when. The use of suppressors is really a great thing with multiple benefits for everybody in the vicinity of a guns report. If you are worried about criminals using them, please do some research, suppressors are very, very, rarely used in any violent crimes or homicides, even in big cities like Chicago, this is still despite the fact that many sets of instructions do already exist on the internet for the sole purpose of producing illegal makeshift silencers out of easily attainable items. Also, many manufacturers have been equipping weapons with pre-threaded barrels for years as well. Yet, crimes involving suppressed guns are practically nonexistent here in the great State of Illinois, also as well as in other states where they have already been legal for some years. Nor have I even been able to find information on many arrests for the possession of illegally obtained suppressors. Please consider all this when voting. Please extend your trust to the good, and law abiding citizens of Illinois to possess and use a suppressor for sporting and hunting use. We will prove to you that we may responsibly keep these great tools in the proper hands for generations to come. Thank you for your duty, your time, and careful consideration on this matter.
