The US Supreme Court and several state Supreme Courts have already ruled in support of our Second Amendment to the US Constitution. Simply making something that is commonly available and legally used, suddenly criminal – IS ILLEGAL!!! The same goes for your attempts to redefine the term assault weapon (if you knew what you were talking about – NO ONE in the US is allowed to own an assault weapon without registering it with the BATFE).

Why are you repeating these adjudicated mistakes here in New Mexico? Are we just stupid or do you simply not support the US Constitution? If the latter, then you have FAILED to live up to your oath of office and should resign or be removed.

If you do pass these arbitrary and capricious new laws, you show nothing but contempt for your constituents. They must then live with your stupidity until someone is harmed and willing to file legal action against your stupidity, costing both time and money. And once you are overruled in court proceedings you sit back with NO CONSEQUENCES, knowing that you cost legal gun owners a few years of total aggravation. That is why you should be subject to losing your guaranteed immunity if you pass these stupid, useless laws. Laws that only attack lawful gun owners (trying to turn us into criminals) and DO NOTHING to combat real crime.

For example, if you pass your 2 week waiting period to pick up a newly purchased weapon, will this 2 week waiting period also apply to criminals? Of course not. You have only made yourself feel good at lawful gun owners expense.

Sadly this is yet another attack on law abiding citizens gun rights given to us by the 2nd A. Yet there are no bill on addressing mental and emotional heath which is the true root cause of all mass attacks, note attacks not just shootings, we are seeing more and more knife and vehicle attacks on people but still nothing is mentioned on mental heath, I guess we will need to out law Uhals after guns

we need term limits no more career politicians

The constitution was written with actions like these from our very own government against peaceable and law abiding citizens in mind. The second amendment was written with advancements in technology throughout history in mind as well. Taking guns and restricting access to guns for law abiding citizens is not only illegal but it is immoral. I grew up in NM a great deal of my life and I noticed the more gun control that passed the more crime amplified and went unpunished. I hope NM state legislators will realize the mistake they are making and the boundaries they are crossing with these house bills that will do nothing to stop crime at it roots.

It is unacceptable to disarm law biding citizens while you defund and take away the authority of the police to be able to do their job. Please vote against this legislation.
