STOP THE GUN GRAB IN NEW MEXICO!

Anti-gun lawmakers are at it again this year, blatantly attacking law-abiding gun owners by pushing measures that do nothing to stop the real issue of gun violence.  We have already seen a laundry list of extremist gun control proposals that would make Biden and Bloomberg proud. We know that we will see more!

We ask that you sign the petition below and help stop the gun grab in New Mexico. To further this cause, it is imperative that you contact your State Representatives and your State Senators, and urge them to OPPOSE HB 9, HB 50, HB 72, HB 100, HB 101, HB 224,HB 238, SB 44, SB 116 and SB 171, and any other new gun control laws. Your NRA-ILA will be fighting these measures at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe along with many other pro-Second Amendment supporters, but we also need YOU to fully engage in the critical effort to protect your Second Amendment rights in the Land of Enchantment.

I, a VOTER and resident of New Mexico, respectfully urge you to OPPOSE all anti-gun proposals being pushed by the lawmakers in our state.

I thank you for your consideration and will be keeping track of what your response and vote for these, and all anti-gun measures, will be.

Will you sign?

Most of these gun control laws are clearly unconstitutional and will be thrown out by any Supreme Court that takes the constitution half-way seriously.

With so many laws against firearms one has to ask does the second amendment have any teeth? Lawmakers in New Mexico need to understand that once we start to butcher the Constitution with any amendment then they will have initiated the downfall of the United States…..this same message is for all legislators nation wide.

Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. If you get rid of guns you’re taking my right to bare arms away and criminals will continue to kill with illegal guns, knives, bombs or any methods to carry out there criminal acts. Leaving all law abiding citizens with no way to protect their families, friends and/or neighbors. These laws won’t stop criminals from committing gun murders, it will just take away my rights and gives criminals more power over me and other law abiding citizens. You need to punish the criminals and not the victims and that is what this anti gun control laws will do.

This legislation does not reduce gun violence; however, it disarms law abiding citizens who use firearms for hunting, target shooting, and self-defense.

Many people argue that guns are unnecessary for self-defense and the numbers of incidents with firearms involving self-defense are low thus concluding that using guns for self-defense is irrelevant. However, this data point is skewed because criminals are still cautious when committing crimes because they do not know who might be protecting themselves with a firearm. If you disarm law abiding citizens, you will cultivate a culture of bold criminals who have little to fear except law enforcement (who are already overtaxed as is). The average citizen would be unable to legitimately defend themselves against these criminals and would have to succumb to the demands of criminal enterprise. This would foster increased activity of organized crime and could overwhelm the ability of law enforcement to keep order in the nation. Within years the middle class and wealthy individuals would require full time security to ensure their assets and families are safe (currently happening in most of Central and South America as well as many other countries).

This legislation undermines the freedom every citizen has to “Life, Liberty, and the Persuit of Happiness” and will promote fear and additional violence.

    Respectfully,
