The NRA-ILA will be at this year's Deerassic Classic, a unique outdoor event held August 4th-5th in Cambridge, Ohio. Part trade show, part charity raffle this event provides an opportunity for supporters of outdoor education to gather for one cause, providing youth & family educational programs.
Throughout both days, there will be side raffles, mystery safe raffles, food and drinks, stage shows, celebrities to meet and vendors to visit. For participants in need of lodging, camping spaces are available on the property. Camping passes for the week before and including through the Classic are $100.
Tickets regularly sell out and will most likely not be available the day of the event. A portion of the proceeds from this event are used for outdoor youth education programs, however the event itself is limited to adults 18 and older.

When last we reported on the ongoing scandal that is Operation Choke Point, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee had issued a report condemning the participation of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in the program. Earlier, the same committee had faulted the Department of Justice (DOJ) for its actions in pressuring banks to sever or avoid business relationships with legitimate industries that are considered politically objectionable, including firearms and ammunition sales. Internal investigators at both FDIC and DOJ had also launched their own probes into allegations of abusive practices under the guise of Operation Choke Point.
Americans have a constitutional right to armed self-defense, but they have other choices as well. The University of Colorado, for example, last year offered the students it sought to disarm with statewide legislation other “crime prevention tactics.” Options for female students facing rapists included passive resistance,” biting, and self-degradation. According to one proponent of the bill to ban the lawful carrying of firearms on campuses, such threats are “why we have the whistles.”
